The House

We're keeping a few things a surprise

Dove Coast is a beach house tucked along the stretch of coast where Kill Devil Hills gives way to Nags Head — close enough to hear the surf, minutes from the piers, the dunes, and everything that makes the Outer Banks feel like nowhere else.

We're getting the house ready for its first guests, and professional photos are on the way. Until then, here's what we can tell you:

  • Steps from the beach on the Outer Banks' central stretch
  • Sunrise over the Atlantic, sunset over the sound — same day, every day
  • Being refreshed and furnished for comfortable family stays
  • Full details, photos, and availability coming soon

What mornings look like out here

Every one of these was shot within a short drive of the house. No filters necessary — the Outer Banks handles that part.

Around the Island

Everything runs by milepost here

Locals navigate the beach road by the green milepost markers — and Dove Coast sits right in the middle of the good stuff. Here's a starter map of where a week can take you.

The wide wooden deck of Jennette's Pier stretching toward the beach under blue skies
MP 16.5 · NAGS HEAD

Jennette's Pier

A thousand feet of concrete pier reaching into the Atlantic — the oldest pier name on the Outer Banks, rebuilt into its modern landmark form. Fish it, walk it, or just watch the surfers work the breaks on either side. The aquarium-run pier house is worth a wander too. This one's a must.

Our favorite spot for a first-day walk
MP 7.5 · KILL DEVIL HILLS

Wright Brothers National Memorial

Where powered flight began in 1903. Climb Big Kill Devil Hill to the monument and stand on the actual spots where the first four flights landed.

MP 12 · NAGS HEAD

Jockey's Ridge State Park

The tallest living sand dune on the East Coast. Fly a kite, watch hang gliders launch, or time it for sunset over the sound — barefoot, obviously.

BEACH ROAD · EVERYWHERE

Piers, donuts & fish shacks

Avalon and Nags Head piers, morning donuts, seafood straight off the boats — the stretch between Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head is packed with local spots. We'll share our personal list with guests.

DAY TRIP · SOUTH ON NC-12

Oregon Inlet & the Basnight Bridge

Drive south past Bodie Island Lighthouse and over the inlet where the sound meets the sea. Charter boats, wide-open beaches, and some of the best drone views on the island.

DAY TRIP · PEA ISLAND

Pea Island & Hatteras beyond

The old life-saving station standing watch in the dunes marks the gateway to the wild southern beaches — Pea Island's wildlife refuge, Rodanthe, and eventually Cape Hatteras itself.

Family & Friends

You get first dibs

Before Dove Coast opens to the public, we're inviting our extended family and friends to claim their weeks — at a special family-and-friends rate.

If a week at the beach sounds like your kind of summer (or fall — locals will tell you fall is the secret season out here), reach out with the dates you're dreaming about and we'll see what we can do.
